Roy Moore claims everyone is after him

Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore claimed Wednesday that there’s a vast conspiracy against him during a speech that blamed all his faults on gays and liberals.

“When I say ‘they,’ who are they? They’re liberals. They don’t hold conservative values. They’re the Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual-Transgenders who want to change our culture,” Moore proclaimed. “They’re socialists who want to change our way of life, putting man above god and then government is our god. They’re the Washington establishment that simply wants to keep their jobs, do the same thing, keep everything the same, so they don’t lose their position, their power, their prestige. Attacks have been not only false and numerous, but malicious.”

During the speech, Moore was interrupted twice by protesters, who refused to let him get off the hook so easily on the accusations. One man shouted at Moore and his supporters, “The entire time, all the girls are lying?”

A comedian, known for his work on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” also screamed out at Moore. Claiming to be a Moore supporter, Tony Barbieri, better known as the fictional character Jake Byrd, proclaimed his support for Moore but was escorted out by police, screaming that Moore was a “man’s man. Does that look like the face of a molester?”

But the scene was quite fitting for the spectacle that took place within it. Before the speech, pastor David Gonnella announced he would only allow journalists to take close, head-on shots of Moore. Gonnella claimed that the church might be attacked by Al-Qaeda.
